Tere previously worked in the engineering trade for over 50 years.
After retiring, Tere completed a Māori governance course at Toi Ohomai with the intention of becoming more involved in Iwi affairs. Tere is currently the Chairman of Waikohatu Marae. Tere is also employed as a part time Safety Officer focussed on monitoring and eradicating pests within Māori owned forests and land blocks. Tere is a keen fisherman and hunter that cares greatly about our environment and how it is preserved for future generations. As a trustee of Te Kotahitanga O Te Arawa Waka Fisheries Trust Board, Tere represents Ngāti Tarāwhai and is committed to the role through attendance at all meetings, and knowledge sharing to facilitate making good decisions.
