She has extensive business experience as a Business owner, Business manager, Business tutor, and a Business consultant. Tangihaere was also the Inaugural co-ordinator for the Rotorua Maori Business Network. Tangihaere has held several positions within the health sector where she gained significant financial management experience. Currently Tangihaere holds several governance roles with both the Ministry of Health and Lakes District health Board.
