A former Bay of Plenty Regional Councillor, Raewyn has decades of experience and knowledge in governance and marine studies.
From Maketū, Raewyn’s deep sense of kaitiakitanga for the sea has guided her involvement in a number of key coastal issues, submissions and appeals against discharges. Among her achievements, Raewyn co-led the Maketū beach clean-up during the Rena spill and takes pride in the fact the Maketū beach cleaners were the cohort who most frequently returned for subsequent clean-ups. Raewyn is passionate about environmental issues and equipping the next generation with the best tools and knowledge to continue mahi in the marine sector.
