with Housing Corporation and Housing NZ before finally spending her last 15 years before retiring with Te Puni Kokiri, Ministry for Maori Development, championing evidence based Maori housing need and challenging those barriers that have impeded Maori to utilise their whenua for sustainable housing solutions. This mahi resulted in securing a Maori housing budget allocation which Maori did have since the demise of Maori Affairs Department. Pauline’s governance experience includes in a pre- and post-settlement environment with Ngati Whakaue and Ngati Rangiwewehi, providing strategic thought leadership anchored to whanau aspirations.
