Te Arawa Fisheries Scholarship Programme

Nou te rourou noku te rourou, ka ora ai te iwi
With your basket and my basket, the iwi will thrive
Te Te Arawa 500 Scholarship was created with the goal of supporting 500 Te Arawa people into skilled employment by 2020. Each year, for the past 10 years, we have offered scholarships to the value of $1000 to our teritary students. All successful applicants were required to attend a wānanga held on a different Te Arawa Marae each year. The wānanga is an important aspect of the scholarship as it provides a support system for students and reconnects them to their whakapapa and whenua. With 2020 now upon us, we are compiling a report that will showcase the success of our tauira, which we will make available on our website. As we move into a post Covid-19 era we look forward to creating a new programme to that supports the strategic goals of our people.
