Hī mussels are a taonga (treasure) to be enjoyed by all.

Hī (pronounced “he”) is the Māori word for gathering seafood. Māori regard shellfish as a descendant and gift from Tangaroa, the god of the sea.
Hī embodies our Te Arawa journey – from our arrival on the Bay of Plenty shores from Hawaiki, our settlement Mai i Maketū ki Tongariro (from Maketū to Tongariro), and the growth and development of our whānau and assets since.

Our traditional marinated mussel range, available in 395g punnets and 2ltr family-sized buckets, contains the very best selection of tender, juicy mussels, packed with flavours absorbed from our distinctly Aotearoa-flavoured marinades.

Our infused mussel range is delicately blanched and steamed, drawing on the legacy of a traditional Māori cooking method, which is then sealed to lock in flavour and long-life. The infused range uses ground-breaking technology to flavour the mussels without compromising quality, and comes in garlic smoked, chilli smoked and natural flavours. These marinades include chilli, garlic, and natural.

Te manu e kai ana i te miro nona te ngahere, ko te manu e kai ana i te matauranga nona te ao.

The bird that consumes the miro berry, owns the forest, the bird that consumes education owns the world.
