HI

He tāonga ēnei kuku hī nō te mōana ā Tīkapa me te mōana ā Toi i Aotearoa nei.

Sustainably farmed from the South Pacific waters of Coromandel in Aotearoa New Zealand, Hī mussels are bite-sized, green-lipped delicacies to be enjoyed on their own or utilised as an ingredient.
From water to plate, customers can be assured their Hī mussels are part of a wider kaupapa to protect, preserve and future-proof our environment.

Hī mussels are a taonga (treasure) to be enjoyed by all.

Hī (pronounced “he”) is the Māori word for gathering seafood. Māori regard shellfish as a descendant and gift from Tangaroa, the god of the sea.
Hī embodies our Te Arawa journey – from our arrival on the Bay of Plenty shores from Hawaiki, our settlement Mai i Maketū ki Tongariro (from Maketū to Tongariro), and the growth and development of our whānau and assets since.

Te manu e kai ana i te miro nona te ngahere, ko te manu e kai ana i te matauranga nona te ao.

The bird that consumes the miro berry, owns the forest, the bird that consumes education owns the world.
