Te Arawa Fisheries is proud to announce we are finalists in the Māori Agribusiness category of the 2022 Primary Industries Good Employer Awards.
Now in its third year, the awards are run by the Ministry for Primary Industries and the Agricultural and Marketing Research and Development Trust to celebrate employers who put their people at the heart of their businesses.
Growing our people is at the heart of realising our Ka Pu Te Ruha strategy, moving us along and up the value-chain and diversifying away commodity-risk in challenging times.
This week, two of our team will take the first steps to introduce our premium Hī Mussel products into an international market – Sydney Australia.
Next week, we bring together leading science, research and technology minds to map out our long-term roadmap to continuously bring through the best ideas to keep us on the leading edge of the fisheries sector!
Further, we are rapidly rolling out our large-scale Māori aquaculture programme in the Bay of Plenty region, bringing together all iwi of the rohe.
At the heart of these initiatives are our people and we are thrilled to be recognised on a national level for the work our team does everyday to make our vision a reality.
At maturity, our strategy will see more than 2000 new jobs created for our people, producing premium quality product for valuable international markets and consumers.
