Creating employment opportunities for our whānau underpins everything we do at Te Arawa Mahi – the work arm of Te Arawa Fisheries.
In order to continue growing this side of the business, it’s imperative we have a dedicated team at the helm.
With this in mind, we are thrilled to welcome Alyssa Ngatai to the team.
She takes over the role from Nicole Pakau, who has recently become the new Innovation and Technology Officer within the Te Arawa Fisheries Group.
Alyssa is studying at Victoria University, completing a double degree in Commerce, majoring in management and science, as well as ecology and biodiversity.
Born and bred in Rotorua, Alyssa is excited to be able to work with her iwi, and hopes the knowledge she brings to this role will prove beneficial for all.
Not one to be a wallflower, Alyssa was a prefect at Western Heights High School, and won a regional business competition which saw her represent young, aspiring Māori in Wellington.
We have no doubt that Alyssa will add to the growth and development of Te Arawa Mahi and we are looking forward to helping the young wahine advance her career.
